Wellington College International

The Shanghai Wellington International School project is a comprehensive educational initiative that integrates high-quality education, advanced facilities, and international characteristics. Located in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, it boasts a total construction area of approximately 36,000 square meters and a campus area of 70,000 square meters. The campus buildings, characterized by red brick exterior walls and white trimmed windows, are topped with white spires, exuding a strong British style. With the mission of promoting international education, the school provides students with abundant international educational resources, a comprehensive development platform, and a high-quality, safe, and comfortable learning environment that supports their overall development and internationalization. Whether it’s the allocation of teaching facilities, the construction of the teaching staff, or the selection of building materials, all reflect the school’s pursuit and commitment to high-quality education.

In terms of architectural style, the school adheres to the British classical style, with red brick as the main color tone,Simple and smooth lines should also be translated, and dignified yet historical colors. This design style not only endows the school with an ancient and dignified temperament, but also makes the school buildings visually highly recognizable and attractive. Additionally, the school buildings integrate modern design elements, achieving a perfect blend of classic and modern. Simultaneously, the school’s architecture demonstrates respect and inheritance of culture. In campus design, the school focuses on incorporating Chinese elements, allowing the British classical style to complement Chinese culture, enriching the school’s cultural connotation.

Application of GRC materials

Regarding building materials, the project team selected GRC material. GRC is a fiber-reinforced concrete composite material made of alkali-resistant glass fibers as reinforcement and cement mortar as the base material, manufactured through a specific process. This material boasts high strength, lightness, durability, fire resistance, sound insulation, thermal insulation, and excellent plasticity, enabling it to create various shapes and textures according to the designer’s creativity.

GRC material is a high-strength, lightweight, and durable glass fiber reinforced concrete material widely used in construction, landscaping, and other fields.

In the Shanghai Wellington International School project, GRC material is used in learning spaces such as classrooms and libraries. Its high strength and lightness enhance the building’s stability while reducing its overall weight, thereby improving safety and stability. Additionally, it effectively reduces noise interference, providing students with a quiet and comfortable learning environment. Its excellent thermal insulation also helps the school buildings block out the intense summer sun and retain warmth in winter, creating a pleasant learning space for students. Worth mentioning is that GRC material also exhibits excellent environmental performance, reducing environmental pollution during manufacturing. Its strong durability ensures that the building remains undamaged during long-term use, reducing the frequency of maintenance and replacement, further conserving resources, and fully aligning with the concepts of environmental protection and sustainable development. Furthermore, GRC material plays a crucial role in other facilities on campus, such as the sports venues and swimming pools, ensuring their safety and stability.

In summary, GRC material is widely used in the Shanghai Wellington International School project, providing a safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly learning environment for teachers and students. If you have a deeper understanding of the application of GRC material or are interested in cooperation, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to exploring more possibilities with you.
